Michigan Lake Gold Coast is the right spot for meeting "beautiful people" in extraordinary settings. While sharing this (medieval type of) "chambre d'hote" experience with friends from Pasadena, we understood that this "chambre d'hote" concept is a unique and universal paradigm.
Circumstances were special: we reunited to celebrate the soul and life of a beloved friend who had been the "hote" of my family during one year, when he was a young boy. During an excting life, as an artist and furniture designer, he shared the "Gay Lifes" of London fashion designers in the 70s, those of Los-Angeles interior designers in the 80's and those of "Gay Paris" jet-setters in the 90s.
Becoming the "hote" of his companion in their artist studio (overlooking the lions cages of Chigago zoo) was a lot more than staying in a plain "chambre d'hote". Even if that meant sharing Kitty-the-cat's preferred sofa overnight (!), it was like experiencing a privileged status. Sharing all together the universal values that made our friend so popular was part of the "game". Such a "game" can, only, be "played" either at night, by a candle light or at breakfast when the sun show-up. This is why this "chambre d'hote" experience is a whole thing, filled with 1000 years traditions from good-hearted people.
May our guests, forever, experiment this unique feeling, in our "Bois-Briand chambre d'hote".
